After a few weeks of furious organisation and action, the Exploding! Shed House is finally starting to emerge from the ground.

At this point we have a ground slab, a timber framed floor for the living room (to float above the massive roots of our jacaranda tree) and the steel framing has arrived on site. The entire wall and roof structure of this little house turned up on the back of 2 semi-trailers yesterday, prefabricated into full walls and roof trusses. This means that all our carpenters need to do on site is fix the frames into the slab and to each other, saving large chunks of site time and ensuring sizes and openings are exactly located.

The plan is that the house will be raised by mid next week, which is pretty darn fast. Stay tuned for some more revealing pics to come.
